# How It Works

Trader Score is your verified trading reputation. It's a composite number that reflects your actual skill across hundreds of battles, not just one lucky win.

## What it measures

Your Trader Score combines six dimensions of trading ability into a single number. It updates after every match. Good performance pushes it up. Bad performance pulls it down.

The score determines:

* Your **rank tier** (Paper Hands through Legendary)
* Your eligibility for **verified trader status** (where followers mirror your trades)
* Your standing on the **global leaderboard**
* Your access to **ranked duels** and high-stakes lobbies

## Why it matters

Anyone can screenshot a winning trade. Trader Score can't be faked. It's built from every battle you play on the platform, win or lose. It's the proof that you can actually trade.

Think of it like an ELO rating in chess, but for trading. Consistent good play beats occasional brilliance every time.

## Key rules

* **Minimum 10 battles** to qualify for the global leaderboard
* **Score decays** 3% per week after 30 days of inactivity
* **All formats count** -- Blitz, Elimination, and Marathon all feed your score
* **Can't be bought** -- only gameplay moves the number

See [The 6 Pillars](/trader-score/pillars.md) for exactly what goes into the calculation.
